Book early.  Many instructors have long waiting lists.  Consider budgeting for lessons (average 40–50 hours)

After Turning 17

Start Driving Lessons

Can drive with a qualified instructor or a supervising driver (21+ and licence held 3+ years).  Must display L plates.  


Can get learner insurance for practice in a family car.

Pass the Theory Test

Must be passed before booking the practical test, £23.
